Wood Floor Sanding & Restoration in Swiss Cottage

Do you have hidden treasures under your carpets? Many properties in Swiss Cottage feature original timber that simply needs expert care to look brand new again. With two decades of experience, we know how to treat aged timber with care and restore it to its natural beauty.

Wood Floor Sanding

- Our sanding process is virtually dust-free, using modern machinery connected to powerful extraction units, minimising disruption to your home in Swiss Cottage. We carefully remove old finishes, stains, and minor damage, creating a perfectly smooth surface, ready for a durable, custom finish (lacquer or oil).

- Often, this restoration involves more than just sanding, It may also require some replacement of planks or repairing of a damaged section of the floor. Our experienced team will ensure seamless blend, as well as smooth & uniform finish throughout.
Sanding of Parquet Flooring

- Sanding parquet requires an experienced sanding professional, due to the varying grain directions of the blocks. Moreover it often involve gap filling of minor gaps, using mix of resin & sawdust, in order to guarantee smooth finished surface.
Sanding Floorboards

- This service is particularly popular for character properties, such as Victorian and Edwardian homes in the Swiss Cottage area, where original floorboards are common. typical for this type of wooden flooring is repair work, which could be necessary to properly renovate pine boards. This repairs are done using matching size reclaimed pine boards, in order to match the colour of the period flooring. Furthermore, any loose boards usually needs to be secured. We can also expertly fill the gaps between the boards, using pine slivers.
Renovation of Mosaic Finger Parquet

- Often found in mid-century homes, mosaic finger parquet requires Dedicated attention due to the small, thin size of the wooden elements. Our renovation process is gentle, focusing on preserving the delicate integrity of the original finger panels while achieving a flawless, renewed surface finish.

This service involves comprehensive sanding, gap filling of any open gaps & cracks, as well as applying a hard-wearing finish that protects your flooring for years to come.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I want to compliment you on your firm’s recent service for us.
As an example, your specialists were helpful in dealing with our old carpets. When the old carpet along the corridor was removed, though the floor was concrete, there were a lot of old materials and also wires to be removed and a thorough preparation had to be done before laying the parquet flooring. Two, sometimes, three very helpful specialists from your firm - or associated with you - worked energetically to sort out the problem and implement the client’ s (i.e. our) wishes and preferences. Their guidance as regards the maintenance of the wood flooring was very helpful.

We are satisfied with the result and we will be pleased to recommend Luxury Wood Flooring to potential clients.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Luxury Wood Flooring were our Christmas saviors! Our previous contractor failed to sand and varnish our floors properly, leaving us in a tough spot just before the holidays. We needed someone to redo everything and finish by Christmas. Steven and his team did an amazing job restoring our wooden floors, completing the work on time, and leaving the premises spotless. We’re really pleased with the results and their professional approach.

Premium Supply and Sub-Floor Preparation

A beautiful floor starts with the correct sub-floor. As Experienced Wood Flooring Professionals, we understand the specific moisture and level requirements for real wood. It is important indeed to achieve the right conditions of the base, as well as environment, which will guarantee flowless wood flooring installation

Preparation Services

Sub Floor Preparation

- The sub-floor is the foundation of your new investment, and we ensure it is perfectly stable, flat, and ready to receive your chosen timber. This process often includes professional levelling, screeding, or installing Quality plywood to eliminate imperfections that could affect the final floor.
Sound Proofing

- In multi-story homes or apartments in Swiss Cottage, sound reduction is a crucial consideration for comfort and compliance. We install high-performance acoustic matting and specialised underlays beneath the wood floor, effectively dampening impact noise and reducing sound transfer between floors. More robust approach is to fit sound insulation between joist, following by high performance noise reduction floor panels.
Damp Proofing

- Essential for all ground-floor, lower ground floors & basement installations, specifically for those built on concrete slabs. This is important, as damp proofing prevents moisture migration that could seriously damage the timber over time. Our team applies professional-grade membranes and liquid damp-proof barriers, safeguarding your wood floor from sub-floor moisture issues common in the Swiss Cottage area.

What Our Happy Customers Say

This company did an absolutely wonderful job of restoring our 1960s parquet flooring. They warned us that due to its age/lack of glue it may be better to have a new floor but we decided to restore. They worked tirelessly over 3 days and reglued almost every block. They sanded and varnished it and replaced the cork trim. The results are excellent and we are very grateful.

Do you know that...

According to the Dictionary of London Place Names (2001), the district is named after an inn called The Swiss Tavern that was built in 1804 in the style of a Swiss chalet on the site of a former tollgate keeper's cottage, and later renamed Swiss Inn and in the early 20th century Swiss Cottage. The district formed part of the ancient parish of Hampstead. It developed following the Finchley Road Act 1826, which authorised construction of Finchley New Road and Avenue Road, with The Swiss Tavern built at the junction of the new roads. The neighbourhood around Finchley Road and Avenue Road was redeveloped in 1937 and 1938 with the opening of an Odeon cinema and the Regency Lodge flats. After World War II, local authority housing was constructed by the London County Council in the area. Council housing includes the five-tower Chalcots Estate built in the 1960s. On 20 March 2014 a planning application was submitted for a 24-storey tower to be built next to Swiss Cottage tube station. The application was rejected by Camden Council on 11 September 2014 following mass local protests.
