Flooring Installation
- Supply and Fit or Installation Only

It’s essential to provide details about your current flooring and the subfloor type (concrete, wooden, etc.). This information helps us determine whether any additional subfloor preparation is required before installation of the chosen wood flooring.
Floor Sanding
- Type of Flooring
Let us know what type of wood floor requires sanding and refinishing. It is important to understand if the existing flooring is floorboards, parquet flooring, engineered wood, solid wood, or other. knowing this detail we can accurately determine the best way and process to renovate your wooden flooring.
- Is the flooring covered or exposed
Let us know if the flooring is exposed, or shall we allow for removal and disposal of the existing floor covering. Please note that if the wooden flooring is currently covered, there may be quite a lot of repair work required. Unfortunately the only way to assess this is to see it entirely exposed. Lifting a corner of the carpet, may not provide us with the full picture of it.
- Gap filling
If you would like the renovated flooring to look nice and smooth, you better request for gap filling of it. The different flooring types require different type of gap filling. Also it is important to understand the type/size of the gaps, so we can quote for appropriate gap filling method. We usually fill minor gaps, cracks and nail holes using mix or resin and sawdust. Large gaps between the pine floorboards, on the other hand, can be filled with suitable pine slivers. - Repairs
In order to restore your wooden flooring sometimes, appropriate repair work is necessary. You may wish to remove an old chimney breast that is no longer in use, or simply glue down some loose blocks. You may also require replacement of some badly damaged (or missing floorboards). For all of this we’ll be more than happy to assist. - Floor Finish
Include details about the finish you’d like to achieve after sanding. This would include Natural Lacquer, or Hard Wax oil, standard stains, as well as light pale wood treatments. If you’d like a specific colour or finish, be sure to include that information. - Renovation of Steps
Renovation of steps is another part of the floor sanding and restoration work. If you have one or more flights of stairs, or just few steps leading to a different level of your property, Luxury Wood Flooring is more than happy to assist. Please advise about the total number of steps and risers that you would like to renovate, so we can include them in our quote. Feel free to include some images or additional information about those, as different stair shape and layout could affect the price when you get a quote.
It is advisable to attach some images of the flooring showing the current condition of it, so we can take this into account, when we submit our estimated cost. Any additional information will help us to provide you with more accurate estimate.
Cladding Steps
When requesting a quote for cladding stairs, details about the layout of your staircase are critical. We need information about the type of the staircase – straight, L-shape, U-shape, etc., as well as is it closed on both sides or open on one side. We encourage you to provide some images showing the staircase layout.
Furthermore, we would also need information about the, number of flights of stairs, as well as total number of steps, that you would like to renovate. Please also advise if there are any winders, curved steps, half landings, etc.
Also, mention if you have any specific preferences for the finish, colour, or cladding type, such as machined solid treads or planks and stair nosings. Often site survey is required in order to determine all of the details for the works, yet let’s start with some estimated figures first.
Marquetry Designs
For those interested in custom marquetry designs, please provide as much detail as possible about your vision. Share images, sketches, or links to styles you potentially like.
